OUR MISSION
TIES empowers children from under-resourced communities to succeed and prosper through education and wraparound support.
TIES Vision
Boyd and Lucy Eustace founded TIES after years of volunteer work in Baltimore City. The work of TIES is to connect sponsorship with mentoring and wraparound support and offer it to children from under-resourced and marginalized communities. Lucy says, "Our vision for TIES is to open life-changing doors for students and their families, and then walk beside them with support and resources, and for the long haul, as they pursue their dreams." Teresa Tawes and Lorrie Strohecker worked with Boyd and Lucy to make this vision a reality. The TIES organization is made up of directors, volunteers, and donors who share common values related to educational, social, and economic equity.
Lucy and Boyd named the organization in memory of Lucy’s older sister, Irene Reyna, and Boyd's older brother, Todd Eustace. Both passed away much too soon but left an enduring legacy".
